Food Branding: Express Noodles

Background

Sco Fro wanted to develop a range of fast food noodle based products for the UK and ultimately export markets. Our project was to visualise their new brand name and design and develop product packaging.

Issues

Our research showed a very busy market with little innovation of packaging presentation. Through the insurgence of oriental / sushi bar / bento box styles, taking cues from this growing trend could form a major element in differentiated product presentation.

Solution

Our visualisation of Express Noodles has a directness and clarity capable of extension into range diversification.

Developing the Brand

Adding authenticity as ‘The Original Fast Food’ reflects the product’s oriental ‘quick and easy cook’ credentials.

Our sourced unique bento box packaging solution gives differentiated shelf presence from the ‘pot’ noodle.

Our simple yet striking individual wrap-around sleeve adds a further oriental dimension that all food should be prepared and presented beautifully as a ‘present’ to be unwrapped.

Express Noodles have been launched in the UK, Europe and Australia with sales growing every month.

In the UK, Express Noodles are currently having success in Sainsbury and Tesco with other customers in the pipeline.

The design provides a Chinese style appeal but keeps a clarity to help promote a ‘pick me up and try me’ cry from the shelf!
