Food Branding: Tunnocks

Background

Tunnocks, one of Scotland’s iconic brand names, have a very particular ‘look and feel’ to their packaging - our role is to ensure this distinctness.

Issues

Never to lose sight of the real brand equity built up over 60 years, since the first Caramel Wafer was launched - evolution not revolution.

Solution

Accentuate the existing visual cues  -  introduce an old friend, the Tunnock’s Lad, with a strapline ‘Tons of Taste in a Tunnocks’ adding both heritage and ‘tongue in cheekiness’.

Size matters!  -  remind the consumer on pack that, even today, a Caramel Wafer is ‘Still the original size’.
